All three apartments are beautifully decorated in traditional local style and have a modern and homely feel. They are in a prime position, nestled into the hillside overlooking the ocean and surrounding countryside, with the village square and beaches just minutes away. sea views.
The apartments are set along a traditional cobbled street and all have spectacular views. Each apartment has its own outside seating and dining with a communal courtyard where you can socialise with other guests and Clare and Graham. You will be welcome to join Clare and Graham here for regular BBQs.
The apartments' setting in the middle of the Aljezur, Lagos and Sagres triangle, allows you to get back to nature and enjoy the fabulous scenery without commercial trappings and crowds. But being within 20 minutes of these larger towns, you will always have something different to do.
| Carrapateira itself is a beautiful unspoilt fishing village where you can experience the real Portuguese atmosphere. It has retained a traditional feel whilst still providing the amenities needed for a great place to live or holiday.
The small beautiful church is only a minutes walk from the villas and is symbolic of the Portuguese style. | |
The restaurants and bars near the beach are relaxed and friendly, with excellent food at very reasonable prices.
The village centre is home to the local store and a small daily market selling locally grown fresh fruit, vegetables and meat. There are 4 coffee shops, 2 surf shops, and cash point machine.
The beach the apartments overlook is a huge expanse of golden sand that never gets crowded. It has a large lagoon between the beach and the village that is a calm and tranquil piece of water that offsets the peeling waves of the sea perfectly.
The apartments are in the Rua Do Pescador (or 'Road of Fishermen'). Whilst there are no longer any fishermen living here, it is not surprising that fishing is a daily part of village life. The local people can be seen every day precariously fishing from the cliffs near the village and small fishing boats are in view just off the shoreline. Ask them to sell you fresh sea bass from their catch or have it expertly cooked for you in the restaurants. It’s easy to see why fish is the staple diet for the Algarve residents.
